Privacy Policy
Methodical Money helps you organize account balances, categories, transactions, and readiness settings. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how to request deletion.
Who operates Methodical Money
Methodical Money is the operator of this app and website. Questions about privacy or data deletion can be sent to hello@methodicalmoney.com.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to operate the product:
- Account information such as email address, display name, authentication identifiers, email verification status, and household membership.
- Budgeting records you enter or create, including accounts, categories, transactions, reallocations, readiness settings, household invites, and ledger history.
- Support information you choose to send when contacting Methodical Money.
How information is used
Information is used to provide the budgeting product, authenticate users, protect household access, maintain ledger history, deliver household invites, respond to support requests, and improve reliability.
Service providers
Methodical Money uses trusted service providers to operate the product, including Firebase for authentication, hosting.com and MySQL hosting for API and database hosting, Resend for email delivery, RevenueCat for subscription entitlement handling, and Google Play, Expo, or similar app distribution services where relevant. These providers process information only as needed to support the app, website, infrastructure, email delivery, subscriptions, or distribution.
Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to operate Methodical Money, when you direct us to do so through product features such as household invites, or when required by law.
Security
Methodical Money uses HTTPS, Firebase Authentication, server-side authorization checks, and hosted database controls to protect access to budgeting records. No system can guarantee perfect security, but the app is designed so household finance records are available only to authorized household members.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and budgeting records while your account exists or until deletion is requested. We do not currently promise automatic deletion based on inactivity. To request deletion, use the Account deletion option inside the Methodical Money app or the deletion request form on the Support page. After verifying the request, we remove the user account and associated app records unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate operational records. If the account belongs to a shared household, we may retain household finance records needed by other active household members while removing the requesting user's access and profile data.
